Perfectly Basics, also known as PB, has been a household name in the fashion industry for more than 17 years. Since its inception, PB has been all about building a timeless wardrobe, consisting of clothing items that last and remain relevant. However, the same cannot be said for the current technological engine behind the company. After years of growth, PB has outgrown its tailor-made platform. In these dynamic times, with technology offering countless possibilities, it is the right moment to replatform.
Technical replatforming coincides with rebranding to PB
PB committed to progressive in-house tech development years ago, leading to the creation of an AI-driven image processor called Teun.io, among other innovations. After years of growth, recent doubling of warehouse space, and internal restructuring, technical replatforming is the only logical choice. Both the entire front and backend will undergo transformation, making this the opportune moment, according to Perfectly Basics, to officially rebrand to PB.nl.
PB joins forces with SCAYLE for increased agility
PB selects the technological engine powering the About You online fashion store, as its new shop management system: SCAYLE. This allows PB to have immediate access to the state-of-the-art headless shop system, featuring extensive built-in functionality, tailored to the needs of brands and retailers in the fashion and lifestyle industry.
A large team of developers has meticulously tested the versatile functionality, instilling confidence in the partnership and a quick go-live. By choosing SCAYLE as the headless e-commerce technology with a modern API-first architecture, PB can better respond to current consumer expectations. Additionally, this scalable technology supports PB's future growth ambitions.
Evert Hemelaar, Country Manager Benelux at SCAYLE: "With our commerce engine, PB leverages readily available SaaS technology, enabling them to seize growth opportunities more quickly. Our technology’s versatile functionality accelerates innovation for PB and allows for greater flexibility in responding to market changes. A crucial advantage in this challenging sector."
Fashion XPRT software for seamless integration
The foundation of PB's modernised e-commerce architecture begins with a new ERP system. PB is transitioning to ACA's Fashion XPRT software, based on the powerful Microsoft platform, for seamless integration. ACA provides access to advanced financial, reporting, and inventory systems. This transition is as big a challenge for ACA as it is for PB, as the web shop is the first to fully rely on ACA's new 365-degree web version.
rb2 guides PB through implementation and configuration
This two-part transition demands expert guidance from an implementation and configuration partner who understands PB's needs. PB has found this expertise in rb2. The developers from the internationally oriented company, based in Purmerend, support PB in integrating various new SaaS solutions. They are also building the new front-end of the web shop and integrating it with the SCAYLE back-end.
Improved shopping experience
Through the collaboration with SCAYLE, ACA and rb2, consumers will be shopping on a completely restyled PB.nl starting in the summer of 2024. The distinctive PB style will be preserved but complemented with improved navigation and filtering options, as well as an even more personalised approach.
