While wool is renowned for being durable and resistant, it remains a natural product. In some cases, wool simply needs a little assistance, depending on what design the brand has in mind. This assistance comes in the form of synthetic materials. Exceptional shape retention, reduced chances of pilling and wear, and optimal color retention. Long live the wool blend!

1. Chunky yarns paired with a low gauge causes wool sweaters to become heavy and saggy. A touch of polyamide keeps the knit light and airy, resulting in high wearing comfort and better shape retention.

2. Fine, delicate wool knits are prone to wear and tear. In such cases, synthetic yarn gives the wool the extra support it needs to last longer.

3. To strengthen wool, yarns need to be tightly twisted. However, this compromises the fluffy texture, which isn't always desirable. Polyamide or acrylic can serve as the framework of a knit, allowing the woolen yarns to stay fluffy and delicate.
