The benefits of lavender

We don't have to tell you that a good night's sleep contributes to a healthy and fresh appearance. But, did you also know that you can get a lot more out of your beauty sleep with a silk pillowcase? Below, we’ve listed the reasons why Carla can’t sleep without hers anymore. Because, next to silk being an ultimate luxury product with a high level of comfort, this fabric has many beauty benefits.

Silk has special anti-aging properties and prevents both sleep and long-term wrinkles. Silk is also hypoallergenic and antibacterial. Even the sebum production in the face and hair is regulated, which is great for people with oily skin or hair. Silk pillowcases are also often recommended for people with sensitive skin, acne or eczema, because of their perfect softness, shine and thickness. This high-quality fabric is also the secret for having smooth and shiny hair. So, goodbye split ends, sleep wrinkles and bed hair, hello comfort and beautiful skin!

Cold, dry winter air is enough to cause cracked skin, and an increase in washing and sanitizing hands can make it even worse. When the skin's natural barrier disappears, water and other substances can penetrate the skin. You can't do this often enough. Carla has a special routine for keeping her hands ultra-soft.

Before going to sleep, rub a thick, moisturizing cream or oil into your hands and put on cotton or silk gloves to stimulate absorption into the skin. Because, as the wonders of silk have just been described, silk does not absorb the applied cream. Rinse off with lukewarm water in the morning and voilà: smooth, baby-soft hands. In addition, do not forget to take extra care of the cuticles with, for example, a nourishing oil or a butter for that little extra love. Of course, you can also do this when you watch TV in the evening.

Lavender is traditionally known to have a relaxing and calming effect. This multifunctional miracle plant is said to reduce the level of stress and has a beneficial effect on blood pressure. How? Due to the natural fragrance linalool. When you breathe in this scent, the brain receives calming signals. Carla sprays a pillow mist with lavender on her pillowcase every night before going to bed, to experience the soothing benefits, resulting in a good night's sleep.

Fragrance sticks with lavender next to your bed have the same effect - in addition to smelling wonderful of course. However, because of its antibacterial effect, lavender is also a must for the skin, like for the face and hands. Lavender balances sebum production, which reduces acne. Due to the presence of antioxidants, some people swear by lavender to prevent skin aging. And do you suffer from dry spots or redness? Then a face cream, hand soap or hand cream with lavender works to soothe and restore your skin.
